Mike Waite
Mike joined Safety Services Manitoba in 2002 and guided the organization out of fiscal and leadership difficulties to become a recognized leader in road and industrial safety training.
Under Mike’s direction, Safety Services Manitoba has become the exclusive supplier of all driver and vehicle safety training to Manitoba Public Insurance. Mike has also led Safety Services Manitoba to work closely with Manitoba Workplace Safety and Health and the Workers Compensation Board of Manitoba to improve the safety culture at high risk companies.
Gord Gillis
Gord is an expert in OH&S and Industrial Safety who brings a wealth of experience gained from successful posts in both Canada and the United States. He holds a designation from Canadian Registered Safety Professionals (CRSP) and Certified Safety Professionals (CSP) in the U.S.
A great communicator with demonstrated leadership ability, Gord has a Masters degree in Communications and his writing has been published in numerous industrial trade publications.

Safety Services Manitoba is the province’s leading, not-for-profit, health and safety services provider. More to the point, we are the GO-TO experts on occupational, road and community safety. We offer the most up to date safety training courses and consulting services and we deliver them to suit our customers’ needs. All our programming and consultations are customizable and we will tailor them to meet the needs of any business or organization looking to take safety to the next level.
Located centrally in Winnipeg with ample free parking, Safety Services Manitoba’s 9,000 square foot training facility includes state of the art equipment for various occupational and road safety training. We have a confined space simulator, five new forklifts, a scissor lift, a large motorcycle fleet, dual braking system training cars, and the “skid monster” for hazardous road conditions training, just to name a few.
Our team of over 60 qualified trainers are ready to take your organization to the next level of safety. They train in our facility or yours and will travel to rural and remote areas of Manitoba to make sure your health and safety requirements are fulfilled. After all, our mission at SSM is to deliver the best safety and health services for Manitobans and we travel far and wide to carry out that mission.
Evening and weekend programming is available and all course participants receive certificates.
