BLOG: “Safety is YOUR Business” by Judy Murphy, President & CEO

We all know having safe workplaces is the right thing to do.
We also all want employees to be safe at work.
But what is the business case for safety?
Here’s a simple breakdown to help get leadership on board with safety and health programming:
Cost comes into play when:
·       production is shut down due to an accident investigation
·       when damage occurs to equipment, material or products
·       when employee time is lost due to an injury

All these factors can affect meeting delivery schedules and maximizing revenue and profits.
Yes, there is a cost to ensuring that you have the right policies and processes in place and adequately train your workers.  But that cost is small considering the alternative.
Safety really is YOUR business.
