In the Spring 2014 issue of HRMAM’s HRmatters magazine, SSM’s President and CEO Judy Murphy discusses what it takes to build an effective safety culture.
An effective safety culture has to be established from the top down – that is, dedication and commitment to workplace safety needs to start with buy-in from upper management. When people in leadership roles demonstrate their commitment to workplace safety and health, this makes its way to the shop floor. And on the shop floor, a good safety culture can make all the difference.
SSM believes that together we can create safer and more productive companies – companies that retain workers, have less absenteeism, meet customer deadlines and control costs.
