Judy Murphy is an experienced and visionary organizational leader with expertise in strategic planning, individual and team development, organizational structure, and board governance. She is passionate about continuous development, learning, and growth. Judy believes that the SSM team makes a significant impact to our clients, their employees, and their families by helping them create safer workplaces.
Judy holds an FCPA, FCA, CEC, CPHR, and CMC. She is a certified practitioner in Emotional Intelligence, Myers Briggs Typology, and DiSC. Judy believes in supporting the community and has been actively involved in the boards of both the Winnipeg and Manitoba Chambers of Commerce, as well as the Reh-Fit Centre. She has participated in many community committees and is currently a member of the Quality and Vigilance Committee (patient safety) at St. Boniface Hospital.
Director of Operations, NCSO, CHSC, CPO, CRSP
Over his 20+-year safety career, David has held positions at well-known organizations and has earned a number of professional designations, having worked in many Canadian provinces. He is well-versed in the heavy construction, manufacturing, and consulting industries, having vast knowledge of Federal and Provincial health & safety legislations and regulations.
David holds designations as a Canadian Registered Safety Professional, Certified Health and Safety Consultant, Construction Safety Officer, and Certified Protection Officer. These designations speak to David’s commitment to excellence in safety consulting, loss prevention, and hazard control. He is also a DNV Auditor, Certified COR Auditor, and is Six-Sigma Green Belt Certified.
In his two most recent leadership positions before coming to SSM, David excelled in supporting high-volume, multi-plant operations that employ thousands of people for the most demanding and highly regulated export markets in the world. David is currently the Director of Operations for SSM and oversees both Occupational and Safe Driving portfolios.

Lisa Alfred is the Chief Financial Officer for Safety Services Manitoba, having joined our staff in 2003, and has been instrumental in moving our business forward. Lisa has helped the company achieve a 300% growth in revenue and become a stable & powerful force in creating our province’s safety culture.
Lisa graduated from Laurentian University with a Bachelor of Commerce Honors, making the Dean’s List and earning her C.G.A Designation. Outside of work, Lisa is a member of the Philanthropic Educational Organization (P.E.O.), which was formed in 1867 and is dedicated to helping women achieve their educational goals. Since its inception, P.E.O. has given over $200 million to over 88,000 women. Lisa has sat on several provincial committees for P.E.O. and acted as a financial advisor to the provincial board.

Since earning his Bachelor of Commerce (Honours) and graduating with recognition as a top performer in both professional sales and branch manager roles, Doug has excelled in every sales position he has held. During his nearly 30-year professional sales career, Doug has launched, managed and expanded sales divisions and territories at three different companies.

Anita has led the marketing department at Safety Services Manitoba since 2009 and has been responsible for directing the marketing strategy for the organization through an impressive period of growth. Anita has been instrumental in the introduction, growth, and evolution of the Safety Services Manitoba Occupational Health & Safety Conference and the Assembly of Manitoba Safety Professionals.
As a key member of the SSM leadership team, Anita also exhibits leadership in the community, having served in the past as co-chair in both the NAOSH and Steps for Life committees. She remains active on the NAOSH committee and is currently an active Board member of the Advertising Association of Winnipeg, holding the role of Director of Education and co-chair of their Digital Marketing Day.
Senior Safety Consultant/Fire & Life Safety Specialist, CRSP, HSP
Adam has been part of SSM’s team since 2009. During his time with SSM, Adam has trained thousands of students and consulted numerous companies throughout Manitoba. Adam’s sincere dedication and communication skills have become his trademark with all companies who have worked with him.
Adam has a keen interest in solving the challenges presented by the fields of occupational health & safety, fire, and life safety. This interest has made him very diverse in his abilities to solve both current and unforeseen challenges that many companies may face in today’s workforce and economy. Adam has a proven track record for dramatically improving his clients’ safety culture due to his ability to recognize issues, listen to concerns, and council all levels of staff in each unique company setting.
Adam holds a Canadian Registered Safety Professional (CRSP) designation, Occupational Health and Safety Practitioner Certificate (Red River College), Health and Safety Professional (HSP) designation, and Wildlife Forestry & Conservation Management Diploma (CDI College). Adam is a licensed NFPA Fire and Life Safety Educator in the Province of Manitoba and has assisted in the development of many training courses including the SAFE Work Auditor program for the Manitoba Government.
Miranda has been working in the safety industry for over five years and has thorough hands-on experience in the field of health and safety and a strong knowledge of provincial and federal workplaces. In her past position, Miranda has created numerous safety programs that became both effective and manageable, helped build plant floor teams and trained management, supervisors, and employees to take ownership. In every metric, the companies Miranda has worked for have seen stunning improvements under her leadership.
Miranda is experienced in developing, maintaining and supporting numerous industry sectors in the development of their safety management systems. Many of these clients work within the construction and manufacturing sectors which Miranda has provided the client with appropriate guidance regarding the interpretation and application of safety legislation, conducting safety audits, inspecting client workplaces for safety and health hazards, facilitating training programs and ensuring effective implementation.
Miranda is a graduate of the Occupational Health and Safety Certificate Program at Red River College. She was on the Deans Honor Roll. She is currently in the process of completing her Health and Safety Professional certification (HSP) and National Construction Safety Officer (NCSO) designation. She also looks forward to beginning the process of completing her Canadian Registered Safety Professional (CRSP) designation in the near future.
