Corporate All-Terrain Vehicle (ATV) Safety Training

Course Location: SSM or on-site
Course Duration: 6 hours (3 hrs theory & 3 hrs practical)
Course Fee: $1,649 group rate
Class Size: max of 6 students (please contact us for larger group)

Requirements

  • Students must provide their own ATVs and proper riding gear that includes: DOT/Snell helmet, eye protection(visor, safety googles or glasses) jacket, gloves, and boots.

Course Description

This course is intended for all ATV operators and supervisors, safety officers, and managers who put their employees on all-terrain vehicles within the workplace or other specified applications. Corporate ATV Training  provides hands-on practical training which will be held at a pre-determined location and will cover the following:

  • Correct operating procedures
  • Pre-ride checklists
  • Appropriate attire
  • Move off and stop
  • Braking and balancing techniques
  • Slow speed controls
  • Traversing hills
  • Traveling on rough terrains

Complemented with written and practical skill assessments throughout the course, ATV training will provide students with a thorough understanding of principles, practices, and hazards associated with the operation of an ATV. Certificates will be issued upon successful completion of the course.

Learning Outcomes

Upon completion of this course, students will be capable of safely operating an ATV. They will also be capable of:

  • Identifying local regulations and requirements
  • Keeping in compliance to local provincial and federal regulations
  • Understanding limitations of the ATV with practical experience
  • Loading and unloading on truck/trailer applications
  • Identifying proper riding equipment
  • Understanding the importance of pre-ride checklists
  • Understanding the hazards of impairments
  • Stocking and maintaining survival and first aid kits

 

 

UTV (Utility Task Vehicle) Training

Course Description

A UTV is designed to be a safe vehicle when used as intended. The key to safe operation is YOUR knowledge of the vehicle: recognizing and accepting it as a motorized vehicle; respecting its capabilities and its limitations; varying operating conditions; and good judgement and courtesy. Recognizing your own capabilities and limitations is also a very important factor for the safe operation of your UTV.

Safety Services Manitoba’s curriculum is based on field-tested techniques and provides a fun and orderly way to learn proper UTV operation. We also include the safe operation and laws governing UTV operation.
