Course Description

SSM’s forklift refresher training updates students with the most current legislative information including the new CSA-B335-15 standard changes.

The Forklift Refresher Training course includes a written portion to validate training competencies. Participants will receive a certificate upon successful completion of this course.

Note: In addition to safety training and the elements of this course, operators are required to be evaluated on the forklift they will operate, in the workplace they will operate in and with the loads normally to be applied. Also, the CSA standard requires that operators be retrained at least every three years. Call for information on how to comply with this requirement.

Manitoba Regulation

22.29(1) No employer shall require or permit a worker to operate a powered lift truck unless the employer has issued a certificate to the worker under this section.

22.29(2) No employer shall issue a certificate to a worker to operate a powered lift truck unless the employer has first ensured that the worker.

(a) has received instruction, training and testing in the operation of the powered lift truck in accordance with a code of practice approved and issued under the Act.

CSA B335-15 6.21.1 Retraining

Operators of lift trucks shall receive retraining in accordance with the requirements of the authority having jurisdiction and, in the absence of such requirements, shall receive retraining at intervals not exceeding three years.
