    Tom Regehr is a Canadian Registered Safety Professional (CRSP), Certified Health and Safety Consultant (CHSC) and Certified Adult Continuing Educator (CACE), a designation which he completed at the University of Manitoba. He also graduated with Honours from the Occupational Health & Safety program at Red River College.

    Tom began his career with Manitoba Hydro in 1992 as a Journeyman Painter/Sandblaster working for Gillam Services and worked his way up to Safety Training Officer for Generation North. He lived in Gillam for 10 years and during this time he volunteered at the Gillam Fire and Ambulance and acquired his Level 2 Professional Fire Fighter Lead Instructor designation as well as his Emergency Medical Responders (EMR) Instructor designation.

    Tom’s other professional experience includes: working as a facilitator for Behaviour Based Safety through Corporate Safety for three years; supporting M.H. Fire Protection Services for a brief term; and acting as Field Safety Officer for M.H. Dorsey Convertor Station for five years. His present position as Corporate Safety Officer with Manitoba Hydro began in 2012.

    After moving to southern Manitoba, Tom joined the RM of MacDonald fire department where he has volunteered for eight years as a firefighter and the lead training officer.

    Tom’s other volunteering positions include the Air Cadets Squadron #191, Fort Garry Lions football coach and Vincent Massey Trojans varsity rugby program trainer.
