Course Description

The Gearing Up (Beginner) program is Canada’s leading course for training novice riders. It provides instruction for a full range of students: from those who have no experience to those who have experience but wish to expand their skills.

The Gearing Up (Beginner) course has a 3-4 hour classroom course discussing riding gear, defensive riding techniques and an introduction to the riding equipment and then either a 2 day or 4 evening course that progresses through the preliminary riding steps and then moves into collision avoidance, braking and swerving techniques.  Although it is designed to help students who have never ridden before, the second half of the course covers more advanced materials than the Basic course has time to cover.  The Gearing Up (Beginner) course gives the students more saddle time and is a nationally recognized Canada Safety Council Course.

Participants who pass the Gearing Up course’s MOST 2 skills test will also receive a nationally recognized Canada Safety Council Certificate.

This course is pass or fail. There is an additional fee to enroll in a Refresher or Retest course.
