Recognizing Excellence in Occupational Health & Safety

Safety Services Manitoba is proud to introduce the SSM Commitment to Safety Award, an annual recognition honoring one of SSM’s clients for their exceptional commitment to occupational health & safety.

This award celebrates organizations that demonstrate outstanding leadership, employee engagement, and continuous improvement in creating safer workplaces for Manitobans.

Eligibility

To be eligible, organizations must:

Be an active SSM client
Be in compliance with all relevant provincial and federal safety regulations
Have no outstanding Stop Work Orders or Improvement Orders

Evaluation Criteria

Nominees will be assessed on:

A documented and actively implemented safety program
Employee participation in safety initiatives
Timely and transparent incident reporting and corrective actions
Ongoing commitment to innovation and improvement in workplace safety

Safety Services Manitoba is proud to present the first-ever SSM Commitment to Safety Award to Vidir Solutions.

This new annual award recognizes an SSM client for exceptional leadership and commitment to occupational health and safety. The inaugural award was accepted by Andrew McCrindle, Safety & Training Coordinator.

Compliance with all relevant provincial and/or federal safety regulations

No current or outstanding Stop Work or Improvement orders

Provide 150–250 word description, per section below:

Active Safety Program: Describe your organization’s safety program, including how it is implemented and reviewed. Include examples of regular training, meetings, or safety documentation.

Employee Engagement: Explain how employees are involved in safety initiatives, such as safety committees, hazard reporting, or peer-to-peer mentoring.

Incident Reporting & Response: Outline your process for reporting and responding to incidents or near-misses, and provide examples of corrective actions taken.

Continuous Improvement: Share examples of any new initiatives, updated policies or procedures, or technologies that have improved safety performance.
