Recreational Off Road Vehicle(ORV) Training in partnership with ATVMB Inc.

 

 

Course Location: On-site or at our SSM training site in St Andrews, MB
Course Duration: 6-8 hours

**This course is geared towards recreational use only and is not designed or intended for corporate work activities, this training program does not cover occupational regulated responsibilities. Please go to our corporate page for work related training.

**Children under the age of 14 are not permitted to operate ORVs unless supervised, accompanied by, and at all times, within clear view of a parent or a person who is at least 18 years old and authorized by the parent. An age/size appropriate ORV must be available for the child as well.

 

Requirements

  • Students must provide their own ORV’s (including transportation to the training site) and proper riding gear that includes: DOT/Snell helmet, eye protection(visor, safety googles or glasses) jacket, gloves, and boots.

 

This training provides hands-on practical training which will be held at a pre-determined location and will cover the following:

  • Correct operating procedures
  • Pre-ride checklists
  • Appropriate attire
  • Move off and stop
  • Braking and balancing techniques
  • Slow speed controls
  • Traversing hills
  • Traveling on rough terrains

 

Complemented with practical skill assessments throughout the course, this training will provide students with a thorough understanding of principles, practices, and hazards associated with the operation of an ORV. Certificates will be issued upon successful completion of the course.

  • Meet instructors, review course goals, safety gear, and ground rules.

  • ATV controls overview and T-CLOC check (tires, controls, lights, oil, chassis).
  • Basic Riding Skills
