All full and multi-day SSM Train the Trainer programs require completion of our one-day Instructional Techniques course. Once the student has completed the Instructional Techniques course, they will earn academic credit that applies to any future SSM Train the Trainer courses. 

Instructional Techniques – Safety Services Manitoba

These training courses cannot be used to train individuals outside their organization. Participants will learn how to tailor teaching methods to suit their students in-house.

ATV or UTV Train the Trainer

Our all-terrain vehicle (ATV) safety training is based on field-tested techniques and provides a fun and orderly way to learn proper ATV operation. Whether your students are seasoned ATV riders or are beginners, you’ll find this course gives you useful tools and skills to train students at any level. ATV courses include the safe operation of an ATV and laws governing ATV use.

Confined Space Entry Train the Trainer

The Confined Space Entry Train the Trainer course allows entrants, attendants, and supervisors to understand and evaluate the hazards and procedures associated with confined spaces safely and confidently. This training will help you to differentiate between a permit-required and a non-permit required confined space. This course will go into great depth in regard to training confined space trainers to become competent instructors, teaching participants the skills required to train adult learners.

Forklift Train the Trainer

This course will go into great depth in regards to training forklift trainers to become competent instructors, teaching participants the skills required to train adult learners. It will begin by teaching participants the same program a forklift participant would learn to ensure potential trainers have a solid working knowledge of the forklift.

This course includes a written and practical skill assessment to validate training competencies.

This course educates workers in safe work practices and procedures. It includes types of loaders, pre-operational inspection, potential problem areas, operating characteristics of front-end loaders, and loader stability/instability. This course will go into great depth in regard to front end loader trainers to become competent instructors, teaching participants the skills required to train adult learners.

GHS/WHMIS 2015 Train the Trainer

This course is designed to fulfill a company’s legal obligations by familiarizing every employee with the Global Harmonized System /Workplace Hazardous Material Information System 2015. This course covers components and compliance of GHS/WHMIS and related legislation, labeling hazardous materials and using material safety data sheets and safety data sheets. This course will go into great depth in regards to training GHS/WHMIS trainers to become competent instructors, teaching participants the skills required to train adult learners.

Mobile Elevated Work Platform with Fall Protection Basics Train the Trainer

This course will delve into teaching MEWP trainers the skills required to become competent instructors. This program will begin with the same program an MEWP participant would learn to ensure potential trainers have a solid working knowledge of the aerial work platform; this includes a written and practical skill assessment to validate training competencies. The training provides students with the most current legislative information. This training is generic and covers all scissor lifts, zoom booms, and articulating platform lifts.

Respirator Fit Testing Trainer

This workshop is based on the Canadian Standards Association Z94.4, and the Manitoba Provincial Workplace Health & Safety Act and General Regulations. Following this program, students will be prepared to administer qualitative fit tests in their internal organizations.

Skid Steer Train the Trainer

This course will go into great depth to train skid steer trainers to become competent instructors, teaching participants the skills required to train adult learners.

Skid steer loaders fall under Part 22 of the Manitoba Safety Regulations and have similar hazards as operating a forklift; therefore, training skid steer operators correctly is an essential component to any company which requires the use of a skid steer loader.

SSM’s skid steer loader training provides students with the most current legislative and industry best practice information regarding powered mobile equipment.

The Telehandler training provides students with the most up-to-date knowledge to ensure a skilled and certified outcome.

Upon completion of this course, students will be capable of safely training the operating of a Telehandler and identifying local regulations and requirements keeping in compliance to local provincial and federal regulations.

Working At Heights Train the Trainer

This program teaches participants how to exercise the hierarchy of controls including fall prevention, fall restraint, and fall arrest as each situation will be different when working at heights. Students will learn how to inspect fall protection equipment, how to don a harness, and have the opportunity to experience what it feels like to hang in a harness. This course will teach participants the skills required to train adult learners. This program will begin teaching participants the same program a fall protection participant would learn to ensure potential trainers have a solid working knowledge of working at heights.
